Good design projects introduce students to new skills and give them the opportunity to flex their creativity at the same time. The 'Memphis Pencase' design project achieves these two challenging outcomes.
Aimed at Yr 7-8, students are introduced to a range of design skills including introductory graphics, design theory, and simple wood-working. This project is an excellent introduction to the many components that make up the design process and the students end up with a product they want to take home.
