Small cord switches.
This inline switch comes in three pieces to make it easy to solder the connections without melting the housing. Separate the wires in a section and cut and strip the ends of one of the wires as usual (wire strippers needed). Place the exposed wire tips in the clasps of the centre part of the switch. Crimp the clasps together over the wire with pliers and then solder in place. Assemble the switch by sandwiching the centre piece between the upper and lower parts. They may need a couple of light taps with a hammer.
