Protocar is a design challenge with a difference. Flying cars have been the dream of many designers, but no one has really cracked it. Using a process of making working models, testing them on the PowerAnchor and making modificaitons, students engage in a truly experimental design process. The PowerAnchor provides the necessarily controlled testing environment that is needed for reliable observations.
The model-making is easy, but the students are required to theorise in order to attain success. The teaching resource pack is a rich source of ideas with a teaching programme, teachers’ notes, student notes and worksheets as well as a classroom video to help instruct and inspire your students. Designability projects are designed by teachers and are classroom tested.
